I really started Shaunie and the City as a way to create and inspire others. Growing up I was a singer and I always thought that was what I wanted to become. Over the years, I let doubt and other people stop me from really ever trying. I went into the corporate world because I thought that was the “safe future”. I work in marketing and social media and have for the past 8 years. Marketing has allowed me to create but I still felt I was unable to create the way that I wanted or the way that singing always allowed me to.
I started this my instagram @shaunieandthecity as a project to create more and I have become more and more obsessed with photography and every day come home from my 9-5 to learn more about photography. I no longer feel that I have to accept the corporate world and what they decide to give me and planning to make a way for myself. I hope that my travels and my story will inspire you to do the same!
